Article/Post Submission Guidelines
Ideally we would like the following:
- Related to RallyCross (SCCA style) or one of the various types of Road Rallies. (This is our strictest guideline; after all it needs to be on topic.
- If you want to be a regular contributor, please email a photo of yourself and the bio information (like the Editor under the “Staff” Tab).
- If you are a one-time or less frequent contributor, please feel free to submit a picture of yourself to accompany the article.
- Don’t be vulgar and keep it geared towards PG.
- Event coverage:
- Try to cover as much of the event as possible. Ideally, all the classes participating, not just a couple of the participants. Definitely not just an individual.
- Try to report the results. Ideally you would have at least the top 3 in each class. You can post the event results sheet if you have it.
- Pictures: If possible, please include at least a couple of pictures to accompany the article. If you have taken a lot of pictures: please host the group some where such as Flickr, post a small selection of photos (about half a dozen or so) here and link to the rest of the group.
- If you don’t want to write and article, you can do a photo essay.
- If you didn’t take the photo, get permission and credit the photographer, as much as possible.
- Videos: Videos should cover the event, not an individual or your in-car cam solely. Think of it as Event Highlights. Host the video on another site, such as YouTube and embed here on the site.
- If you didn’t shoot the video, get permission and credit the videographer, as much as possible.
- You can cross-post if you wish (post the same article in other sources).
- You can team up with other individuals to report on the event. Just make sure all involved are credited.
- Articles (How-To’s, Interviews, etc)
- Must be an original work, though you may have used or will later use it in other sources.
- If you quote someone, credit them.
- Include some photos, if possible.
- You may team up with other people on the article, just make sure all involved are credited.
- Event Promotion and/or Press Releases
- Event promotion and/or press releases are acceptable submissions, but should be related to Road Rally, RallyCross and/or your region/club charity activities.
- Editing
- We will try to keep editing to a minimum, mostly in regard to spelling and obvious grammatical errors. If we feel something more needs to be done, we will either let you know that we are editing it, or will give you the option to revise it yourself.
- Notes and other items of interest
- We reserve the right to change the submission guidelines.
- We reserve the right to reject submissions, though we’ll let you know why we rejected it.
- If you have an idea we haven’t covered, but think we would be interested in using … Pitch the idea to us!
